For people looking for work
Why can I only have 5 applications open at once?
That's the whole idea behind the name. You get 5 calling cards to hand out at a time, so applying means choosing rather than blasting a résumé at everything. Employers know every application they receive was a deliberate one, which is why they read them.
A slot frees up as soon as an application reaches a final state — withdrawn by you, or closed out by the employer. An open offer still occupies a slot until it's resolved.
Does a referral use up one of my slots?
No. If someone at the organization refers you, that application is exempt from the cap entirely — a referral is a higher-trust channel than applying cold, so it shouldn't cost you a card.
Why do I have to write a note with every application?
Every application needs at least 40 characters about why that specific role. It's a small amount of friction that rules out one-click mass applying, which is what makes the 5-application limit meaningful in the first place.
Who can see my profile and résumé?
By default, only organizations you have actually applied to. Your profile isn't listed in any public directory, isn't browsable by employers, and doesn't appear in search engines. Recruiters at an organization you applied to can see your profile, your résumé, your cover letter, and your answers to any screening form attached to that job.
The one exception is opt-in: you can publish a separate public Calling Card from your profile to make it easy for someone to refer you to a job. Turning it on shows your headline, bio, skills, and work history (and your résumé, if you also opt into that) to anyone with the link, signed in or not — nothing about it is shared unless you switch it on yourself.
Résumé files are encrypted before they're stored, and are only decrypted when someone with access actually downloads one — which is recorded in an access log.
What file types can I upload for a résumé?
PDF or Word documents, up to 5MB.
What happens if an employer just ignores my application?
It counts against them. An application sitting untouched for more than 7 days is flagged as overdue on the employer's own dashboard. If a job still has an unanswered applicant after 14 days it gets pushed down the public job board, and after 21 days it's removed from the board entirely until they respond.
Organizations that respond consistently get a "fast responder" badge on their jobs, so you can see it before you spend a card.
Can I get my data, or delete my account?
Both, from your account page. You can download everything we hold about you as a single file at any time.
Requesting deletion starts a 30-day window during which nothing is actually touched — you can restore the account yourself if you change your mind. After that it's permanent. See the privacy policy for the one exception: notes you wrote as part of a hiring team stay with that organization, with your name removed.
Do you offer background checks or drug testing?
Not currently. If that changes, it will be opt-in and described in the privacy policy before it goes live.
For organizations hiring
Why do I have to verify my organization before posting?
Publishing a live job requires submitting your legal business name, a tax ID or business registration number, and a supporting document for review. It's the main thing standing between applicants and fake listings, and it's why candidates are willing to spend a limited application on you. You can build and save drafts before you're verified.
How many jobs can I post?
It depends on your plan — see pricing. The limit is on jobs published at once, not in total, so closing a filled role frees the slot immediately.
What happens if we're slow to respond to applicants?
Your jobs lose visibility. An applicant untouched for more than 7 days shows as overdue on your dashboard; at 14 days the job is demoted on the public board, and at 21 days it's hidden from it until you respond. It reverses as soon as you act on the applicant — nothing is permanent.
Moving someone to any status counts as responding, including rejecting them. The rule is about not leaving people waiting.
Can I add my team?
Yes — invite teammates by email from your organization's team page, as Owner, Admin, or Recruiter. Everyone gets their own login rather than sharing one. An organization can never be left without an owner.
Can we ask applicants our own questions?
Scale-plan organizations can build custom screening forms and attach one to a job posting. Responses are encrypted and visible to your team alongside the application. Legally regulated documents — I-9, W-4 — are handled as upload-based templates rather than rebuilt as custom fields, since a reconstruction wouldn't legally be those forms.
